A banca de defesa foi presidida pelo seu orientador, Dr. Nelson Menolli Junior (IFSP\/SPO), e composta pelas pesquisadoras Dra. Maria Alice Neves (UFSC) e Dra. Foram obtidos 134 esp\u00e9cimes das ordens Auriculariales, Dacrymycetales e Tremellales, sendo que destes foram obtidas 80 sequ\u00eancias da regi\u00e3o ITS do DNAr, 43 da regi\u00e3o nrLSU e nove do gene tef1-\u03b1. Os estudos morfol\u00f3gicos tiveram como foco a ordem Tremellales e foram identificados dois novos registros do g\u00eanero <em>Phaeotremella<\/em> para o Neotr\u00f3pico e cinco esp\u00e9cies novas, sendo uma pertencente ao g\u00eanero <em>Naematelia<\/em> e quatro ao g\u00eanero <em>Tremella<\/em>.<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Taxonomia e filogenia de fungos gelatinosos (Basidiomycota) de ocorr\u00eancia na Mata Atl\u00e2ntica do Sul e Sudeste do Brasil<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Jelly fungi comprise an artificial group characterized by the formation of a gelatinous or cartilaginous basidioma. The classification of these fungi has undergone significant changes throughout history, reflecting technological developments in taxonomy, including the emergence of molecular biology techniques. Currently, within the phylum Basidiomycota, jelly fungi are classified mainly into four orders: Auriculariales, Dacrymycetales, Sebacinales, and Tremellales. In Brazil, these fungi are still poorly understood, and most descriptions of the species that occur here lack molecular studies. Thus, the objective of this work is to define the phylogenetic positioning and determine the species of jelly fungi (Basidiomycota) that occur in the Atlantic Forest of southern and southeastern Brazil based on morphological and molecular studies. A total of 134 specimens of the orders Auriculariales, Dacrymycetales, and Tremellales were obtained from collections made in parks, conservation units, and private properties, as well as from Brazilian herbarium collections. Subsequently, molecular studies were conducted, resulting in the generation of 80 sequences from the ITS region of the rDNA, 43 from the nrLSU region, and nine from the tef1-\u03b1 gene. The sequences were used in phylogenetic studies employing the Maximum Likelihood method, and five trees were reconstructed for Auriculariales, Dacrymycetaceae, N<em>aematelia, Phaeotremella, and Tremella<\/em>. s. Morphological analyses were conducted to identify specimens belonging to the order Tremellales at the species level. From the phylogenetic reconstruction of Auriculariales, 11 clades with at least 15 species were recovered. In Dacrymycetales, the sequences generated in this study were grouped into seven clades, corresponding to at least nine species. Based on phylogenetic and taxonomic studies of Tremellales, five new species are proposed (<em>Naematelia obliqua, Tremella caragheniformis, Tremella fluminensis, Tremella peduncullata, and Tremella tortuosa<\/em>), and two new records of Phaeotremella for the Neotropics (<em>Phaeotremella frondosa and Phaeotremella fuscosuccinea<\/em>) are proposed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> Heterobasidiomycetes, Protobasidiomycetes, Auriculariales, Dacrymycetales, Sebacinales, Tremellales.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Os fungos gelatinosos comp\u00f5em um grupo artificial que tem como caracter\u00edstica a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de basidioma de consist\u00eancia gelatinosa ou cartilaginosa. A classifica\u00e7\u00e3o desses fungos passou por dr\u00e1sticas mudan\u00e7as ao longo da hist\u00f3ria e que acompanharam o desenvolvimento tecnol\u00f3gico dentro da taxonomia, como o surgimento das t\u00e9cnicas de biologia molecular. Atualmente, dentro do filo Basidiomycota, os fungos gelatinosos s\u00e3o classificados principalmente em quatro ordens, sendo elas: Auriculariales, Dacrymycetales, Sebacinales e Tremellales. No Brasil, esses fungos ainda s\u00e3o pouco conhecidos e a maior parte das descri\u00e7\u00f5es das esp\u00e9cies que aqui ocorrem carecem de estudos moleculares e morfol\u00f3gicos. Desse modo, o objetivo deste trabalho \u00e9 definir o posicionamento filogen\u00e9tico e determinar as esp\u00e9cies de fungos gelatinosos (Basidiomycota) que ocorrem na Mata Atl\u00e2ntica do Sul e Sudeste brasileiro com base em estudos morfol\u00f3gicos e moleculares. Foram obtidos 134 esp\u00e9cimes das ordens Auriculariales, Dacrymycetales e Tremellales a partir de coletas realizadas em parques, Unidades de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e propriedades particulares, bem como foram requisitadas cole\u00e7\u00f5es de herb\u00e1rios brasileiros. Posteriormente, foram realizados estudos moleculares resultando na gera\u00e7\u00e3o de 80 sequ\u00eancias da regi\u00e3o ITS do DNAr, 43 da regi\u00e3o nrLSU e nove do gene tef1-\u03b1. As sequ\u00eancias foram utilizadas em estudos filogen\u00e9ticos pelo m\u00e9todo de M\u00e1xima Verossimilhan\u00e7a, e foram reconstru\u00eddas cinco \u00e1rvores relativas \u00e0 Auriculariales, Dacrymycetaceae, <em>Naematelia, Phaeotremella e Tremella<\/em> s. s. Foram conduzidas an\u00e1lises morfol\u00f3gicas para a identifica\u00e7\u00e3o em n\u00edvel de esp\u00e9cie dos esp\u00e9cimes relativos \u00e0 ordem Tremellales. A partir da reconstru\u00e7\u00e3o filogen\u00e9tica de Auriculariales, foram recuperados 11 clados com ao menos 15 esp\u00e9cies. Em Dacrymycetales as sequ\u00eancias geradas neste trabalho foram agrupadas em sete clados e correspondem a pelo menos nove esp\u00e9cies.
