Mara Angelina Galv\u00e3o Magenta (titular) e Dr. Marcelo Monge Egea.<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">O g\u00eanero <em>Lessingianthus<\/em> (Asteraceae) no Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo, Brasil<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A monografia de Asteraceae para o Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo j\u00e1 se encontra com diversos g\u00eaneros estudados, entretanto alguns grupos s\u00e3o ricos em esp\u00e9cies, dif\u00edceis de serem delimitados e pouco estudados. Considerada uma das maiores fam\u00edlias, s\u00e3o reconhecidas para o estado 728 esp\u00e9cies, das quais 33 s\u00e3o representantes de Lessingianthus, g\u00eanero pertencente \u00e0 Vernonieae. Lessingianthus \u00e9 reconhecido por apresentar os cap\u00edtulos em ramos terminais dispostos na axila de br\u00e1cteas semelhantes \u00e0s folhas, formando capitulesc\u00eancias diversas al\u00e9m da presen\u00e7a de tricomas glandulares no \u00e1pice dos lobos da corola. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo realizar a monografia de Lessingianthus para o estado de S\u00e3o Paulo. Os estudos foram embasados em cole\u00e7\u00f5es de herb\u00e1rios, acrescidos de novas coletas para observa\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies em seu habitat, an\u00e1lise da variabilidade morfol\u00f3gica, fenologia, bem como estudos flor\u00edsticos e taxon\u00f4micos anteriores. S\u00e3o apresentadas chave de identifica\u00e7\u00e3o para as esp\u00e9cies, descri\u00e7\u00f5es, coment\u00e1rios taxon\u00f4micos, ilustra\u00e7\u00f5es e mapas de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o, al\u00e9m de um guia ilustrado de campo. Foram reconhecidas 33 esp\u00e9cies de Lessingianthus, das quais duas s\u00e3o novas ocorr\u00eancias para o estado de S\u00e3o Paulo: L. ammophilus e L. arachniolepis, bem como o primeiro registro de L. glabratus para o munic\u00edpio de Tatu\u00ed. A maioria das esp\u00e9cies possui h\u00e1bito subarbustivo de pequeno porte com capitulesc\u00eancias predominantemente espiciformes ou combina\u00e7\u00f5es destas, tamb\u00e9m ocorrem esp\u00e9cies com capitulesc\u00eancias corimbiformes, racemiformes ou at\u00e9 mesmo cap\u00edtulos solit\u00e1rios. Majoritariamente nativas do Cerrado ou \u00e1reas abertas, apenas L. macrophyllus ocorre no interior ou borda da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, enquanto L. brevipetiolatus, L. tomentellus e Lessingiantus sp1 tamb\u00e9m ocorrem no Dom\u00ednio Fitogeogr\u00e1fico da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, no entanto em fitofisionomia de campo de altitude. Foi proposto a sinonimiza\u00e7\u00e3o de L. asteriflorus em L. mollissimus e o reconhecimento de L. desertorum em Chrysolaena desertorum, L. pumillus em L. grandiflorus, L. simplex em Chrysolaena simplex, L. varroniifolius em Lepidaploa uniflora e L. vepretorum em L. dichrous. S\u00e3o consideradas esp\u00e9cies raras cujos \u00faltimos registros datam de mais de 50 anos, L. exiguus, L. obscurus e L. roseus que foram coletadas recentemente.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palavras-chave:<\/strong> Cerrado, Compositae, Taxonomia Vegetal, Vernonia<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The monograph of Asteraceae for S\u00e3o Paulo State has several genera already studied; however, some groups are rich in species, difficult to be delimited and poorly studied. Considered one of the largest families, there are 728 species recognized for the state, of which 35 are representatives of Lessingianthus, a genus belonging to the Vernonieae. Lessingianthus is recognized for having the heads on terminal branches, arranged in the axil of bracts like leaves, forming spiciform or scorpioid capitulescences, in addition to the presence of glandular trichomes at the apex of the corolla lobes. This research aimed to carry out the monograph of Lessingianthus for the state of S\u00e3o Paulo. The studies were based on collections of herbaria, plus new collections for observation of species in their natural habitat, analysis of morphological variability, phenology, as well as previous floristic and taxonomic studies. An identification key for the species, descriptions, taxonomic comments, illustrations, and distribution maps are presented, in addition to an illustrated field guide. Thirty-three species of Lessingianthus were recognized, of which two are new occurrences for the state of S\u00e3o Paulo: L. ammophilus and L. arachniolepis, as well as the first record of L. glabratus for the municipality of Tatu\u00ed. Most species are small-sized subshrub with predominantly spiciform capitulescences or combinations thereof, although there are also species with corymbiform, racemiform capitulescences or even solitary heads at the end of the branch. Mostly native to the Cerrado or open areas, only L. macrophyllus occurs in the interior or edge of the Atlantic Forest, while L. brevipetiolatus, L. tomentellus and Lessingiantus sp1 also occur in the Phytogeographic Domain of the Atlantic Forest, such species were collected in highland phytophysiognomy. It was carried out the synonymization of L. asteriflorus in L. mollissimus and the recognition of L. desertum in Chrysolaena desertum, L. pumillus in L. grandiflorus, L. simplex in Chrysolaena simplex, L. varroniifolius in Lepidaploa uniflora, L. vepretorum in L. dichrous.
