Ros\u00e2ngela Sim\u00e3o Bianchini (Instituto de Pesquisas Ambientais &#8211; IPA) e Dr. Ricardo Jos\u00e9 Francischetti Garcia (Prefeitura Municipal de S\u00e3o Paulo &#8211; SP).<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Diversidade e riqueza do componente flor\u00edstico da comunidade de ep\u00edfitas na cidade de S\u00e3o Paulo, Brasil<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, reconhecida como um hotspot global, enfrenta alta degrada\u00e7\u00e3o devido \u00e0 urbaniza\u00e7\u00e3o. Diante disso, a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de estudos que evidenciem sua import\u00e2ncia torna-se imprescind\u00edvel. O presente estudo foi conduzido no Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), localizado em uma \u00e1rea densamente urbanizada do dom\u00ednio da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica. Foram analisadas tr\u00eas \u00e1reas com diferentes n\u00edveis de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o: uma \u00e1rea bem conservada e afastada da visita\u00e7\u00e3o do Jardim Bot\u00e2nico de S\u00e3o Paulo (JBSP) (\u00c1rea \u201ca\u201d), uma \u00e1rea com conserva\u00e7\u00e3o intermedi\u00e1ria (\u00c1rea \u201cb\u201d) e uma \u00e1rea pr\u00f3xima ao JBSP, com menor grau de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o (\u00c1rea \u201cc\u201d). Para a an\u00e1lise, foram levantadas caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas funcionais de folhas, troncos, frutos e crescimento das esp\u00e9cies, que representavam 75% da \u00e1rea basal de cada \u00e1rea de estudo. O objetivo foi observar a diferencia\u00e7\u00e3o das \u00e1reas por meio dessas caracter\u00edsticas e identificar quais delas eram significativas para tal. Das 23 caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas funcionais analisadas, apenas sete mostraram-se estatisticamente significativas, apresentando baixa correla\u00e7\u00e3o entre si, o que indica aus\u00eancia de redund\u00e2ncia. Essas caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas funcionais incluem as de fruto (fruto carnoso ou n\u00e3o), folha (simples ou composta, tamanho da est\u00edpula, pelos abaxiais e tamanho m\u00ednimo do pec\u00edolo), de tronco (gravidade espec\u00edfica da madeira) e de crescimento (ponto de libera\u00e7\u00e3o). Essas sete caracter\u00edsticas foram fundamentais para evidenciar as diferen\u00e7as entre as \u00e1reas em fun\u00e7\u00e3o do seu grau de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o, corroborando as expectativas da literatura.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Palavras-chave<\/strong>: Caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas funcionais, Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, Tra\u00e7os funcionais<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Atlantic Forest, recognized as a global hotspot, faces significant degradation due to urbanization. Considering this, conducting studies that highlight its importance becomes crucial. This study was conducted at the Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), located in a densely urbanized area of the Atlantic Forest domain. Three areas with different levels of conservation were analyzed: a well-conserved area far from the visitation of the S\u00e3o Paulo Botanical Garden (JBSP) (Area \u201ca\u201d), an area with intermediate conservation (Area \u201cb\u201d), and an area close to the JBSP with a lower level of conservation (Area \u201cc\u201d). For the analysis, functional morphological characteristics of leaves, trunks, fruits, and growth of the species were collected, representing 75% of the basal area of each study area. The objective was to observe the differentiation of the areas through these characteristics and to identify which of them were significant for this purpose. Out of the 23 analyzed functional morphological characteristics, only seven were found to be statistically significant, showing low correlation among themselves, indicating an absence of redundancy. These functional morphological characteristics include those of fruits (fleshy or not), leaves (simple or compound, stipule size, abaxial hairs, and minimum petiole length), trunk (specific gravity of wood), and growth (release point).
