Dra. Maria Beatriz Rossi Caruzo (Universidade Federal de S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 UNIFESP), tendo como membros Dra. Ana Paula Moraes (Universidade Federal do ABC \u2013 UFABC) e Dra. Cec\u00edlia Oliveira de Azevedo (Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia \u2013 UESB).<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Delimita\u00e7\u00e3o e Distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de <em>Magnolia<\/em> (sect. <em>Talauma<\/em>) (Magnoliaceae) no Brasil<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Magnoliaceae compreende duas subfam\u00edlias Liriodendroideae Y.W.Law e Magnolioideae Y.W.Law, que s\u00e3o monofil\u00e9ticas e amplamente reconhecidas. Desde o estabelecimento de Magnoliaceae por Jussieu (1789), a taxonomia da fam\u00edlia tem atra\u00eddo a aten\u00e7\u00e3o de bot\u00e2nicos em todo o mundo, principalmente em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a delimita\u00e7\u00e3o de g\u00eaneros e\/ou se\u00e7\u00f5es dentro da subfam\u00edlia Magnolioideae, onde est\u00e1 inclu\u00eddo o g\u00eanero aqui estudado. A fam\u00edlia tem um curioso padr\u00e3o biogeogr\u00e1fico, ca. 50% esp\u00e9cies s\u00e3o nativas das Am\u00e9ricas, e as restantes da \u00c1sia; algumas esp\u00e9cies j\u00e1 extintas de <em>Magnolia<\/em> eram nativas da Europa. Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o infragen\u00e9rica, <em>Magnolia<\/em> est\u00e1 dividida em tr\u00eas subg\u00eaneros: subgen. <em>Yulania, <\/em>subgen. <em>Gynopodium <\/em>e subgen.<em> Magnolia<\/em>, onde est\u00e1 localizada a se\u00e7\u00e3o <em>Talauma<\/em>, se\u00e7\u00e3o que representa os indiv\u00edduos nativos do Brasil. As esp\u00e9cies de <em>Magnolia<\/em> sect. <em>Talauma<\/em> podem ser reconhecidas por duas cicatrizes longitudinais paralelas no pec\u00edolo causadas pela queda de est\u00edpula, al\u00e9m de possuir um sincarpo lenhoso, que se rompe em placas irregulares na deisc\u00eancia. Anteriormente o g\u00eanero <em>Magnolia <\/em>era reconhecida por conter apenas duas esp\u00e9cies nativas no Brasil, sendo <em>M. amazonica<\/em> e <em>M.ovata<\/em>. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar um estudo morfol\u00f3gico e taxon\u00f4mico mais aprofundado para o g\u00eanero, buscando compreender sua delimita\u00e7\u00e3o morfol\u00f3gica mais acurada para o Brasil. Apresentamos uma reorganiza\u00e7\u00e3o do g\u00eanero <em>Magnolia <\/em>para o pa\u00eds, que resultou em cinco esp\u00e9cies (<em>M. amazonica<\/em>, <em>M. brasiliensis<\/em>, <em>M. irwiniana<\/em>, <em>M. ovata<\/em> e <em>M. sellowiana<\/em>). Para auxiliar na circunscri\u00e7\u00e3o e diferencia\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies, foram realizadas an\u00e1lises morfom\u00e9tricas. O uso de conhecimentos taxon\u00f4micos em conjunto com a morfometria geom\u00e9trica mostraram-se eficazes para a delimita\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies. Al\u00e9m disso, realizamos uma pr\u00e9via an\u00e1lise do estado de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies, que nos mostrou um alerta sobre o risco de extin\u00e7\u00e3o que a maioria das esp\u00e9cies estudadas apresenta. <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Palavras-chaves: <\/strong>Flora Brasileira, Flora Neotropical, Magnolioideae, Morfometria, Pinha-do-brejo.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Magnoliaceae comprises two subfamilies, Liriodendroideae Y.W. Law and Magnolioideae Y.W. Law, which are monophyletic and widely recognized. Since the establishment of Magnoliaceae by Jussieu (1789), the taxonomy of the family has attracted the attention of botanists worldwide, mainly regarding the delimitation of genera and\/or sections within the subfamily Magnolioideae. The family has a curious biogeographical pattern, ca. 50% species are native to the Americas, and the remainder to Asia; some extinct species of <em>Magnolia <\/em>were native to Europe. Regarding the infrageneric classification, <em>Magnolia<\/em> is divided into three subgenera: subgen. <em>Yulania<\/em>, subgen. <em>Gynopodium<\/em>, and subgen. <em>Magnolia<\/em>, where the <em>Talauma <\/em>section is located, representing the native individuals of Brazil. The species of <em>Magnolia<\/em> sect. <em>Talauma<\/em> can be recognized by two parallel longitudinal scars on the petiole caused by the fall of stipules, as well as having a woody syncarp that breaks into irregular plates upon dehiscence. Previously, the <em>Magnolia<\/em> genus was recognized to contain only two native species in Brazil, <em>M. amazonica<\/em> and <em>M. ovata<\/em>. The aim of this study was to carry out a more in-depth morphological and taxonomic study of the genus, seeking to make its morphological delimitation more accurate for Brazil. We present a broader delimitation and a general reorganization of the <em>Magnolia<\/em> genus for the country, resulting in five species (<em>M. amazonica<\/em>, <em>M. brasiliensis<\/em>, <em>M. irwiniana<\/em>, <em>M. ovata<\/em>, and <em>M. sellowiana<\/em>). To support in the circumscription and differentiation of species, morphometric analyses were performed. The use of taxonomic knowledge combined with geometric morphometrics, proved to be effective in the delimitation of the species.
