Dra. Andr\u00e9a Tucci (Instituto de Pesquisas Ambientais), tendo como membros Dra. Ina de Souza Nogueira (Universidade Federal de Goi\u00e1s \u2013 UFG) e Dr. Jo\u00e3o Alexandre Saviolo Osti (Universidade de Guarulhos \u2013 Univeritas UNG).<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o da estrutura da comunidade fitoplanct\u00f4nica do reservat\u00f3rio de Biritiba Mirim, Sistema Alto Tiet\u00ea, SP<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The dynamics of the phytoplankton community is influenced by a series of factors that somehow end up shaping its composition. Seasonal changes (such as precipitation and temperature) and spatial changes (such as land use and nutrient discharge) are stressors that cause rapid responses by the community, reflecting local environmental conditions and allowing them to function as a bioindicator of water quality. Built in 2001, the Biritiba Mirim reservoir has in its surroundings, close to the water body, areas with preserved native vegetation and small and medium-sized agricultural activities. Here we believe that these different types of land cover around the reservoir can cause different responses in the composition and dynamics of the community for the stations sampled. We carried out four quarterly collections of the phytoplankton community and limnological samples, during one year, in ten different stations along the reservoir, where the use and occupation of the soil was the criterion to define the sampling units. We used multivariate statistics, biological and water quality indices, biovolume and traditional taxonomy to identify temporal and spatial patterns of variation in the parameters analyzed in order to understand which environmental filter would be influencing the community. We identified significant results when correlating the parameters analyzed with the hydrological period, however, the same result was not seen when analyzing the different types of land use. Thus, factors related to seasonality, such as water residence time, temperature and precipitation were the precursors of the changes found in physical, chemical and biological factors (phytoplankton), going the opposite of what we hypothesized. We can attribute the results found to the different interactions promoted by temporal and spatial changes, where the duration, intensity and frequency with which they influence the phytoplankton composition and limnological properties are very different from each other. In other words, the influence of seasonality on the aquatic ecosystem is quickly and easily observed, on the other hand, the influence of agricultural activities takes longer and depends on the combination of several other factors to provoke responses from aquatic communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> Environmental Monitoring; Mesotrophic Reservoir; Shallow Reservoir; Spatial and temporal heterogeneity; Phytoplankton.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A din\u00e2mica da comunidade fitoplanct\u00f4nica \u00e9 influenciada por uma s\u00e9rie de fatores que de certa maneira acabam moldando sua composi\u00e7\u00e3o. Altera\u00e7\u00f5es sazonais (como precipita\u00e7\u00e3o e temperatura) e mudan\u00e7as espaciais (como uso do solo e descarga de nutrientes) s\u00e3o estressores que causam respostas r\u00e1pidas por parte da comunidade, refletindo as condi\u00e7\u00f5es ambientais locais e permitindo que funcionem como bioindicador de qualidade da \u00e1gua. Constru\u00eddo em 2001, o reservat\u00f3rio Biritiba Mirim apresenta em seu entorno, pr\u00f3ximo ao corpo h\u00eddrico, \u00e1reas com vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa preservada e com atividade agr\u00edcola de pequeno e m\u00e9dio porte. Aqui acreditamos que esses diferentes tipos de cobertura do solo no entorno do reservat\u00f3rio podem causar respostas distintas na composi\u00e7\u00e3o e din\u00e2mica da comunidade para as esta\u00e7\u00f5es amostradas. Realizamos quatro coletas trimestrais da comunidade fitoplanct\u00f4nica e das amostras limnol\u00f3gicas, durante um ano, em dez esta\u00e7\u00f5es distintas ao longo do reservat\u00f3rio, onde o uso e ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o do solo foi o crit\u00e9rio para definir as unidades amostrais. Utilizamos estat\u00edstica multivariada, \u00edndices biol\u00f3gicos e de qualidade da \u00e1gua, biovolume e taxonomia tradicional para identificar padr\u00f5es temporais e espaciais de varia\u00e7\u00e3o nos par\u00e2metros analisados a fim de entender qual filtro ambiental estaria influenciando a comunidade. Identificamos resultados significativos ao correlacionar os par\u00e2metros analisados com o per\u00edodo hidrol\u00f3gico, entretanto n\u00e3o foi visto o mesmo resultado ao analisar os diferentes tipos de uso do solo. Assim, fatores relacionados com a sazonalidade, como tempo de resid\u00eancia da \u00e1gua, temperatura e precipita\u00e7\u00e3o foram os percursores das altera\u00e7\u00f5es encontradas nos fatores f\u00edsicos, qu\u00edmicos e biol\u00f3gicos (fitopl\u00e2ncton), indo ao contr\u00e1rio ao que hipotetizamos. Podemos atribuir os resultados encontrados com as diferentes intera\u00e7\u00f5es promovidas pelas mudan\u00e7as temporais e espaciais, no qual a dura\u00e7\u00e3o, intensidade e frequ\u00eancia com que influenciam a composi\u00e7\u00e3o fitoplanct\u00f4nica e as propriedades limnol\u00f3gicas distinguem muito entre si.
