Maria das Gra\u00e7as Lapa Wanderley (Instituto de Bot\u00e2nica) e pelo Prof. Dr. Eduardo Cust\u00f3dio Gasparino (Unesp- Jaboticabal).<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Palinotaxonomia do g\u00eanero <em>Aechmea<\/em> subg\u00eanero <em>Ortgiesia<\/em> (Regel) Mez (Bromeliaceae &#8211; Bromleioideae)<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Aechmea<\/em> is the largest genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae, of Bromeliaceae family, with about 250 species and eight subgenera. It is considered one of the most disagreeable in relation to taxonomic treatments, being the most polymorphic genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae with a possible polyphyletic origin. The species of <em>Aechmea, <\/em>the subgenus <em>Ortgiesia<\/em> have as main characteristics the combination of mucronate sepals and conate and cucular petals that distinguish them from the species of the other subgenera. Most species are restricted to Brasil. There is still no consensus on the subgenus monophyly, but there are studies that show close phylogenetic relationships among most species. This study aimed to recognize the pollen morphology of the species of <em>Aechmea<\/em> subgenus <em>Ortgiesia<\/em>, seeking to distinguish pollen characters of taxonomic value to contribute to the diagnosis of subgenus species, in order to assist in the future phylogenetic analyzes of the group. The pollen grains of 16 species represented by 59 specimens were studied and submitted to light microscopy analysis (LM) after preparation by lactic acetolysis technique at 60%. The pollen grains were measured, photomicrographed and electromicrographed. Statistical and multivariate analyzes were performed to evaluate the significance of pollen similarities among the specimens studied. The <em>Ortgiesia <\/em>pollen are monads, subisopoles, elliptic, slightly flat-convex in equatorial view, but there is dimorphism, with a few percentage of spherical pollen grains, 2(3)-pores, with small to large, cylindrical or elliptical pores, the exine varied to \u2018reticulate\u2019 to \u2018predominantly microreticulate\u2019, \u2018foveolate\u2019 and \u2018microreticulate\u2019. The specimens were separated into three pollen types, considering the size variation of the lumina near the aperture and secondary characteristics of the exine ornamentation, such as size and shape of lumina and walls in the central area of the pollen. <em>Ortgiesia<\/em> can be considered stenopolynic in spite of the morphological variation that occurred among the specimens of some taxa, mainly regarding the ornamentation of the exine.<br \/>\n<strong>Keywords<\/strong>: <em>pollen morphology<\/em>. <em>Atlantic forest<\/em>. <em>Ortgiesia<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Aechmea<\/em> \u00e9 o maior g\u00eanero da subfam\u00edlia Bromelioideae, pertencente \u00e0 fam\u00edlia Bromeliaceae, com cerca de 250 esp\u00e9cies e oito subg\u00eaneros. \u00c9 apontado como um dos que possui mais desacordos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos tratamentos taxon\u00f4micos, por ser o mais polim\u00f3rfico g\u00eanero da subfam\u00edlia Bromelioideae com uma poss\u00edvel origem polifil\u00e9tica. As esp\u00e9cies de <em>Aechmea <\/em>subg\u00eanero <em>Ortgiesia <\/em>possuem como principais caracter\u00edsticas a combina\u00e7\u00e3o de s\u00e9palas mucronadas e conatas e p\u00e9talas cuculadas que as distinguem das esp\u00e9cies dos demais subg\u00eaneros. A maior parte das esp\u00e9cies tem ocorr\u00eancia restrita ao Brasil. Ainda n\u00e3o h\u00e1 consenso sobre o monofiletismo do subg\u00eanero, por\u00e9m h\u00e1 estudos que mostram estreitas rela\u00e7\u00f5es filogen\u00e9ticas entre a maioria das esp\u00e9cies. Esse estudo teve como objetivo reconhecer a morfologia pol\u00ednica das esp\u00e9cies de <em>Aechmea <\/em>subg\u00eanero <em>Ortgiesia<\/em>, buscando distinguir caracteres pol\u00ednicos de valor taxon\u00f4mico para contribuir com o diagn\u00f3stico das esp\u00e9cies do subg\u00eanero, visando auxiliar nas futuras an\u00e1lises filogen\u00e9ticas do grupo. Foram estudados os gr\u00e3os de p\u00f3len de 16 esp\u00e9cies representadas por 59 esp\u00e9cimes que foram submetidos \u00e0 an\u00e1lise em microscopia \u00f3ptica (MO) ap\u00f3s prepara\u00e7\u00e3o pela t\u00e9cnica de acet\u00f3lise l\u00e1ctica a 60%. Os gr\u00e3os de p\u00f3len foram medidos, fotomicrografados e eletromicrografados. Foram feitas an\u00e1lises estat\u00edsticas e multivariadas para avaliar a signific\u00e2ncia das semelhan\u00e7as pol\u00ednicas entre os esp\u00e9cimes estudados. Os gr\u00e3os de p\u00f3len s\u00e3o m\u00f4nades, subisopolares, de \u00e2mbito el\u00edptico, contorno ligeiramente plano-convexo em vista equatorial, por\u00e9m h\u00e1 dimorfismo, com alguns gr\u00e3os de p\u00f3len esf\u00e9ricos em pequena porcentagem, 2(3)-porados, com poros pequenos a grandes, poros circulares ou el\u00edpticos, a exina variou de \u2018reticulada\u2019 a \u2018predominantemente reticulada\u2019, \u2018foveolada\u2019 e \u2018microrreticulada\u2019. Os esp\u00e9cimes foram separados em tr\u00eas tipos pol\u00ednicos, considerando a varia\u00e7\u00e3o de tamanho dos lumens junto \u00e0s aberturas e caracter\u00edsticas secund\u00e1rias da ornamenta\u00e7\u00e3o da exina, como tamanho e forma dos lumens e muros na \u00e1rea central do p\u00f3len. <em>Ortgiesia<\/em> pode ser considerado estenopol\u00ednico, apesar da varia\u00e7\u00e3o morfol\u00f3gica ocorrida entre os esp\u00e9cimes de alguns t\u00e1xons, principalmente quanto a ornamenta\u00e7\u00e3o da exina. No entanto, alguns par\u00e2metros mostraram-se importantes para a taxonomia do grupo e sugere-se que sejam considerados em estudos filogen\u00e9ticos futuros que busquem elucidar as rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre as esp\u00e9cies do subg\u00eanero <em>Ortgiesia<\/em>.<br \/>\n<strong>Palavras-chave<\/strong>: Caracter\u00edsticas pol\u00ednicas.
