Para tanto, foram estudadas 28 esp\u00e9cies da subtribo e, por meio de t\u00e9cnicas convencionais de microscopia de luz e varredura, tais gl\u00e2ndulas foram caracterizadas. Foram observados col\u00e9teres nas invagina\u00e7\u00f5es da parede externa do ov\u00e1rio e, fora das invagina\u00e7\u00f5es, ocorreram gl\u00e2ndulas constitu\u00eddas por eleva\u00e7\u00f5es com poro e tricomas glandulares unicelulares. Foram identificados tr\u00eas morfotipos de osm\u00f3foros, sticky-exudate glands e nect\u00e1rios formados por tricomas unicelulares, em diferentes locais na superf\u00edcie adaxial das s\u00e9palas e labelo. Nosso estudo fornece informa\u00e7\u00f5es essenciais para a taxonomia da subtribo, e traz. al\u00e9m disso, descri\u00e7\u00f5es de gl\u00e2ndulas in\u00e9ditas na parede externa do ov\u00e1rio e de poss\u00edveis transi\u00e7\u00f5es evolutivas referentes \u00e0s gl\u00e2ndulas florais, fornecendo informa\u00e7\u00f5es relevantes para o entendimento da hist\u00f3ria evolutiva do grupo.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Diversidade de gl\u00e2ndulas florais em Pleurothallidinae (Epidendroideae \u2013 Orchidaceae) ocorrentes no Brasil<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The subtribe Pleurothallidinae is highlighted as one of the largest group of Orchidaceae pollinated by Diptera. The taxonomy of this subtribe has undergone a taxonomic reorganization in which all the recognized synapomorphies are related to floral features. Due to the evolution with their pollinators, Pleurothallidinae flowers exhibit unique glands whose evolution is poorly known. Thus, this investigation provides structural studies of floral glands from Brazilian Pleurothallidinae species, emphasizing the morphological changes shown by different glands inside the flower. Scanning electron and light microscopy were utilized to examine the structure and occurrence of glands in ovary, sepals and labellum of flowers of 28 Brazilian Pleurothallidinae representatives. Colleters were identified in the invaginations of the external ovary wall and out of the invaginations other glands formed by elevations with stomatal pore and glandular unicellular trichomes occurred. Three morphotypes of osmophores, sticky-exudate glands, and nectaries formed by unicellular trichomes were identified in different localities in the adaxial surface of the sepals and labellum. The presence of ovarian colleters can be a sinapomorphy of Pleurothallidinae. The occurrence of other glands besides colleters in the external ovary wall were observed for the first time in Pleurothallidinae. The results concerning the structure of the floral glands emphasize the great similarity between Pleurothallidinae and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bulbophyllum<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, due to the evolutionary convergence related to the pollination by flies. In addition, the pattern of gland occurrence observed in the lip, when compared to the available phylogenies, showed a transition between nectaries, &#8220;sticky-exudate glands&#8221; and osmophores. This transfer of function is probably a case of homoheterotopy in the subtribe Pleurothallidinae.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Keywords<\/strong>:\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anatomy, colleters, morphology, nectaries, osmophores, glands, heterotopy, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bulbophyllum<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A subtribo Pleurothallidinae destaca-se como um dos maiores grupos em Orchidaceae polinizado por d\u00edpteros. Esta subtribo tem passado por uma not\u00e1vel reformula\u00e7\u00e3o taxon\u00f4mica, em que todas as sinapomorfias morfol\u00f3gicas j\u00e1 relatadas remetem \u00e0s caracter\u00edsticas florais. Devido \u00e0 evolu\u00e7\u00e3o com seus polinizadores, as flores dos representantes desta subtribo apresentam gl\u00e2ndulas de caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas, cujas rela\u00e7\u00f5es evolutivas s\u00e3o pouco conhecidas. Sendo assim, este estudo promoveu an\u00e1lises estruturais de gl\u00e2ndulas florais de esp\u00e9cies brasileiras de Pleurothallidinae, enfatizando as altera\u00e7\u00f5es morfol\u00f3gicas apresentadas pelas diferentes gl\u00e2ndulas dentro da flor. Microscopia eletr\u00f4nica de varredura e microscopia de luz foram utilizadas para examinar a estrutura e a ocorr\u00eancia destas gl\u00e2ndulas no ov\u00e1rio, s\u00e9palas e labelo das flores de 28 representantes brasileiros de Pleurothallidinae. Col\u00e9teres foram identificados nas invagina\u00e7\u00f5es da parede externa do ov\u00e1rio e, fora das invagina\u00e7\u00f5es, ocorreram gl\u00e2ndulas constitu\u00eddas por eleva\u00e7\u00f5es com poro e tricomas glandulares unicelulares. Tr\u00eas morfotipos de osm\u00f3foros, sticky-exudate glands, e nect\u00e1rios formados por tricomas unicelulares, foram identificados em diferentes locais na superf\u00edcie adaxial das s\u00e9palas e labelo. A presen\u00e7a de col\u00e9teres nas invagina\u00e7\u00f5es do ov\u00e1rio pode ser uma sinapomorfia de Pleurothallidinae. Tamb\u00e9m foram observadas, pela primeira vez, em Pleurothallidinae, a ocorr\u00eancia de outras estruturas secretoras al\u00e9m dos col\u00e9teres na parede externa do ov\u00e1rio. Os resultados referentes \u00e0 estrutura das gl\u00e2ndulas florais enfatizam a grande semelhan\u00e7a entre Pleurothallidinae e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bulbophyllum<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, devida \u00e0 converg\u00eancia evolutiva relacionada \u00e0 poliniza\u00e7\u00e3o por moscas. Al\u00e9m disso, o padr\u00e3o de gl\u00e2ndulas observado no labelo, quando comparado com as filogenias dispon\u00edveis, mostrou uma transi\u00e7\u00e3o entre nect\u00e1rios, \u201csticky-exudate glands\u201d e osm\u00f3foros.
