A banca examinadora foi composta pelo Dr. Nelson Menolli Jr. (Orientador IBt\/IFSP), Dra. Adriana de Mello Gugliotta (IBt) e a Dra. Maria Alice Neves (MICOLAB-UFSC).<\/span><\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Diversidade e posicionamento filogen\u00e9tico de esp\u00e9cies de Agaricus da regi\u00e3o metropolitana de S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 SP<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The genus <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> represents the first taxonomic proposition of all mushroom-forming fungi, generally recognized for having pileus, stipe and lamellae. Currently the genus consists of approximately 440 species, including some of nutritional, medicinal and toxic interest. Molecular studies, using rDNA sequences from the ITS region, confirmed the monophyly of the genus and some traditionally known sections. Despite the lack of molecular studies with species from tropical regions, some results suggest that tropical species form monophyletic groups typical from these regions. The Atlantic Rainforest, one of the biodiversity hotspots in the world, has an extraordinary wealth of biodiversity and undoubtedly represents an extremely promising field of study for the mycobiota survey. This project carried out a systematic study of representatives of the genus <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from the perspective of a modern taxonomy including morphological and molecular data. Periodic collections were carried out in three areas of the Atlantic Rainforest of the S\u00e3o Paulo metropolitan region, the Parque Estadual da Cantareira (PEC), the Reserva Biol\u00f3gica do Alto da Serra de Paranapiacaba (RBASP) and the Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), and additionally other collections were incorporated into the study. Molecular studies were conducted by rDNA sequences from the ITS region in order to determine the phylogenetic positioning of the collected specimens and contribute to the overall phylogeny of the group. As result of this study, three new species of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> were proposed for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> subg. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pseudochitonia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> se\u00e7\u00e3o <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Xanthodermatei<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, as well as a review about the systematics and phylogeny of the genus <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in the world context, including 30 new ITS sequences obtained from the materials studied and distributed among 10 of the 23 sections currently recognized in the genus.<br \/>\n<strong>Keywords<\/strong>:\u00a0 mushroom, taxonomy, phylogeny, biodiversity, ITS<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">O g\u00eanero <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> representa a primeira proposi\u00e7\u00e3o taxon\u00f4mica de todos os fungos formadores de cogumelos, em geral reconhecidos por possu\u00edrem p\u00edleo, estipe e lamelas. Atualmente o g\u00eanero consta de aproximadamente 440 esp\u00e9cies, incluindo algumas de interesse nutricional, medicinal e t\u00f3xicas. Estudos moleculares, utilizando sequ\u00eancias de DNA da regi\u00e3o ITS confirmaram a monofilia do g\u00eanero e de algumas se\u00e7\u00f5es tradicionalmente conhecidas. Apesar da car\u00eancia de estudos moleculares com esp\u00e9cies de regi\u00f5es tropicais, alguns resultados sugerem que esp\u00e9cies tropicais formam grupos monofil\u00e9ticos t\u00edpicos dessas regi\u00f5es. A Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, um dos <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hotspots<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> de biodiversidade do mundo, possui uma riqueza de biodiversidade extraordin\u00e1ria e, sem d\u00favida, representa um campo de estudos extremamente promissor para o levantamento da micobiota. Neste projeto foi realizado um estudo sistem\u00e1tico de representantes do g\u00eanero <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agaricus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> sob a perspectiva da taxonomia moderna incluindo dados morfol\u00f3gicos e moleculares. Foram realizadas coletas peri\u00f3dicas em tr\u00eas \u00e1reas de Mata Atl\u00e2ntica da regi\u00e3o metropolitana de S\u00e3o Paulo, o Parque Estadual da Cantareira (PEC), a Reserva Biol\u00f3gica do Alto da Serra de Paranapiacaba (RBASP) e o Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), e adicionalmente cole\u00e7\u00f5es de outras localidades foram incorporadas ao estudo. Os estudos moleculares foram conduzidos a partir da obten\u00e7\u00e3o de sequ\u00eancias de DNAr da regi\u00e3o ITS, a fim de determinar o posicionamento filogen\u00e9tico dos esp\u00e9cimes coletados e contribuir para a filogenia global do grupo.
