A banca examinadora foi presidida pelo seu orientador, PqC. Dr. Eduardo Pereira Cabral Gomes e composta pela Prof\u00aa Dr\u00aa. Vania Regina Pivello (USP) e pela PqC. Dr\u00aa. Rosangela Sim\u00e3o Bianchini (N\u00facleo de Pesquisa Curadoria do Herb\u00e1rio SP \u2013 IBt\/SP).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A presen\u00e7a de esp\u00e9cies de plantas de ocorr\u00eancia em outros ambientes no mundo (ex\u00f3ticas) na vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa tem sido considerada um grave problema ambiental, especialmente por substituir esp\u00e9cies nativas e invadir locais que n\u00e3o ocorreriam naturalmente. Este projeto buscou entender se a presen\u00e7a de esp\u00e9cies de plantas ex\u00f3ticas na vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa do Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga esteve influenciada: i) pelo grau de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o do trecho de vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa estudado; e ii) pela proximidade ao Jardim Bot\u00e2nico. Foram encontradas 10 esp\u00e9cies de plantas ex\u00f3ticas na vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa, sendo mais numerosas nos trechos menos conservados. A proximidade ao Jardim Bot\u00e2nico apresentou-se como a maior explica\u00e7\u00e3o para a invas\u00e3o, ainda em est\u00e1gio inicial.<\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Plantas ex\u00f3ticas em uma Reserva de Floresta Atl\u00e2ntica urbana<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The presence of invasive exotic species in tropical forests is a serious environmental issue, mainly when the new area supports their successful and viable population. In an urban landscape, the intensive management of plant species composition, abundance and distribution change the natural environment and patches are directly affected. Botanical Gardens have an important role in plant species conservation, research and environmental education, nevertheless, they can be an important pathway of plant introduction, potentially invasive, into new areas. Therefore, we hypothesized that: i) there is a negative correlation between the level of disturbance of each area and exotic richness and abundance; ii) and the closeness from the S\u00e3o Paulo Botanical Garden (JBSP) promotes the presence of exotic plants in the natural forest. We surveyed the presence of exotic plants into canopy and understory of three native forest areas with different levels of disturbance. The originally exotic planted individuals considered as sources were defined through specific records from JBSP. We found ten exotic plant species in the natural remnants of Fontes do Ipiranga State Park (PEFI), with 80% classified as invasive following specific ecological definitions. The most preserved area had significantly less exotic individuals per area unit. The main factor to understand the invasion process was the distance between the source individuals or the closest adult individual and the exotic ones present inside the studied areas. This metric was used to indirectly quantify propagule pressure. The nearness to JBSP promoted the presence and abundance of exotic species, and an early invasion process was characterized by the forest of PEFI. The early invasion process means the high conservation value of it, allowing pointing priorities in management, thus promoting actions before the occurrence of community homogenization. Hence, the need for management prior to the occurrence of communities homogenization to biological invasion is reinforced.<br \/>\n<strong>Keywords<\/strong>: Botanical Garden, disturbance, biological invasion, naturalization, propagule pressure<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A presen\u00e7a de esp\u00e9cies ex\u00f3ticas invasoras nas florestas tropicais \u00e9 um s\u00e9rio problema ambiental, especialmente se a nova \u00e1rea de ocorr\u00eancia suporta popula\u00e7\u00f5es bem sucedidas e vi\u00e1veis. Na paisagem urbana, a intensidade do manejo da composi\u00e7\u00e3o, da abund\u00e2ncia e da distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de plantas alteram o ambiente natural e remanescentes de vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa s\u00e3o diretamente afetados. Jardins Bot\u00e2nicos s\u00e3o fundamentais \u00e0 conserva\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies vegetais, \u00e0 pesquisa cient\u00edfica e \u00e0 educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental, contudo, podem ser vetores de introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies ex\u00f3ticas potencialmente invasoras. Sendo assim, assumimos as hip\u00f3teses de que: i) h\u00e1 correla\u00e7\u00e3o negativa entre o n\u00edvel de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o do trecho de ocorr\u00eancia e os par\u00e2metros riqueza e abund\u00e2ncia de esp\u00e9cies ex\u00f3ticas; ii) a proximidade do Jardim Bot\u00e2nico de S\u00e3o Paulo (JBSP) favorece a presen\u00e7a de ex\u00f3ticas na vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o natural. Tr\u00eas trechos de vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa com diferentes n\u00edveis de perturba\u00e7\u00e3o foram amostrados quanto \u00e0 presen\u00e7a de ex\u00f3ticas nos estratos do dossel e regenerante. Os indiv\u00edduos ex\u00f3ticos fonte para o c\u00e1lculo das dist\u00e2ncias foram determinados por meio de bibliografia espec\u00edfica de registros de plantio no JBSP. Foram encontradas 10 esp\u00e9cies ex\u00f3ticas na vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o do Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), das quais 80% foram classificadas como invasoras segundo o arcabou\u00e7o te\u00f3rico considerado. O trecho de maior n\u00edvel de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o apresentou significativamente menos indiv\u00edduos ex\u00f3ticos por unidade de \u00e1rea. O fator que melhor exlicou a invas\u00e3o foi dado pelas dist\u00e2ncias entre os indiv\u00edduos considerados como fonte, ou os indiv\u00edduos adultos mais pr\u00f3ximos, e os esp\u00e9cimes encontrados nas \u00e1reas estudadas. Esta medida indiretamente substituiu a quantifica\u00e7\u00e3o da press\u00e3o de prop\u00e1gulos. A proximidade com o JBSP favoreceu a presen\u00e7a e a abund\u00e2ncia de ex\u00f3ticas, sendo diagnosticado o in\u00edcio do processo de invas\u00e3o nos trechos de vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o do PEFI.
