Blake ocorrentes no Parque Estadual Alberto L\u00f6fgren, S\u00e3o Paulo-SP\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A banca examinadora foi presidida pela sua orientadora, Profa. Dra. Edenise Segala Alves (N\u00facleo de Anatomia \u2013 IBt\/SP) e composta pelo Prof. Dr. Eduardo Luiz Longui (Instituto Florestal) e pelo Prof. Dr. M\u00e1rio Tomazello Filho (ESALQ-USP).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">O projeto desenvolvido buscou avaliar a influ\u00eancia clim\u00e1tica na alometria e nas caracter\u00edsticas anat\u00f4micas da madeira de \u00e1rvores de <em>S. parahyba.<\/em> Dessa forma, o estudo da interfer\u00eancia do clima na anatomia da madeira auxiliou na melhor compreens\u00e3o das respostas da esp\u00e9cie frente aos fatores ambientais, contribuindo para o entendimento da influ\u00eancia abi\u00f3tica no decl\u00ednio de popula\u00e7\u00f5es de<em> S. parahyba.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Alometria de \u00e1rvores de <em>Schizolobium parahyba<\/em> (Vell.) Blake ocorrentes no Parque Estadual Alberto L\u00f6fgren, S\u00e3o Paulo-SP<\/h3>\n<hr align=\"center\" noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"1\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The growth rate and the anatomical characteristics of wood directly influence the allometric pattern of trees. Plants modulate their growth according to changes in the environment, so the study of tree rings, as well as the variations occurring in wood anatomy bring important information about the plasticity of the xylem and the survival of the species in their environment. The aim of this study was to answer the following questions: 1.) Which abiotic factors influence anatomical features and wood density of <em>Schizolobium parahyba<\/em> throughout tree rings? 2.) How changes in trees rings influence allometric pattern in <em>S. parahyba<\/em> trees? 3.) Changes on anatomical characteristics of wood, arising from abiotic factors, may explain the mortality of those trees of <em>S. parahyba<\/em> studied? Dead or senescent individuals of <em>S. parahyba<\/em> from the State Park Alberto L\u00f6fgren was collected and prepared for the proposed analysis. After the measurement of tree rings, crossdating was performed. Subsequently, measurements of anatomical and physicochemical characteristics of tree rings were made to carry out the analysis relating to hydraulic architecture and allometry. Chronologies have been developed through the anatomical features for correlations with climate data. The main abiotic factors that influenced the anatomical characteristics and tree ring density of <em>S. parahyba<\/em> were: relative humidity, vapour pressure deficit, rainy days, precipitation, water balance and cloudiness. Throughout its growth, the species reconciled increased hydraulic conductivity potential with increased density benefiting efficiency in conductivity and mechanical resistance necessary to maintain the survival of trees as individuals acquire gain in height. In addition, on the basis of variations related to water availability at the beginning of the growing season, the species produced two distinct tree ring patterns, one with high and another with low cost, structural carbon reserve accumulated during the previous growing season represented an important role in this production. It was possible to verify changes in hydraulic architecture that resulted on reduced security of conductivity in the last tree rings and also reduced efficiency of conductivity in the ring formed during the last year of tree&#8217;s life (2012), influencing negatively their survival. The water surplus during months from April to June and the reduction of water availability during the early growing season influenced such anatomical changes.<br \/>\n<strong>Keywords<\/strong>: dendrochronology, hydraulic architecture, no-structural carbohydrate, climate change, dieback<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RESUMO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A taxa de crescimento e as caracter\u00edsticas anat\u00f4micas da madeira influenciam diretamente o padr\u00e3o alom\u00e9trico das \u00e1rvores. As plantas modulam seu crescimento de acordo com as mudan\u00e7as no ambiente, assim o estudo dos an\u00e9is de crescimento, bem como das varia\u00e7\u00f5es que ocorrem na anatomia da madeira trazem informa\u00e7\u00f5es importantes sobre a plasticidade do xilema e a sobreviv\u00eancia das esp\u00e9cies no seu ambiente. O objetivo deste trabalho foi responder \u00e0s seguintes quest\u00f5es: 1.) Quais fatores abi\u00f3ticos influenciam as caracter\u00edsticas anat\u00f4micas e a densidade do lenho de Schizolobium parahyba ao longo dos an\u00e9is de crescimento? 2.) De que forma as varia\u00e7\u00f5es nos an\u00e9is de crescimento influenciam no padr\u00e3o alom\u00e9trico das \u00e1rvores de S. parahyba estudadas? 3.) Altera\u00e7\u00f5es anat\u00f4micas no lenho, decorrentes de fatores abi\u00f3ticos, podem explicar a mortalidade das \u00e1rvores de S. parahyba estudadas? Indiv\u00edduos mortos ou senescentes de <em>Schizolobium parahyba<\/em> provenientes do Parque Estadual Alberto L\u00f6fgren foram coletados e preparados para as an\u00e1lises propostas. Ap\u00f3s a mensura\u00e7\u00e3o dos an\u00e9is de crescimento, foi realizada a data\u00e7\u00e3o cruzada. Posteriormente, foram realizadas mensura\u00e7\u00f5es de caracter\u00edsticas anat\u00f4micas e f\u00edsico-qu\u00edmicas dos an\u00e9is de crescimento para realiza\u00e7\u00e3o das an\u00e1lises referentes a arquitetura hidr\u00e1ulica e alometria. Cronologias foram desenvolvidas por meio das caracter\u00edsticas anat\u00f4micas para correla\u00e7\u00f5es com os dados clim\u00e1ticos. Os principais fatores abi\u00f3ticos que influenciaram as caracter\u00edsticas anat\u00f4micas e a densidade dos an\u00e9is de crescimento de S. parahyba foram: umidade relativa do ar, d\u00e9ficit de press\u00e3o de vapor, dias de chuva, precipita\u00e7\u00e3o, balan\u00e7o h\u00eddrico e nebulosidade. Ao longo de seu crescimento, a esp\u00e9cie conciliou o aumento do potencial de condutividade hidr\u00e1ulica com o aumento da densidade beneficiando a efici\u00eancia na condutividade e a resist\u00eancia mec\u00e2nica necess\u00e1rias para a manuten\u00e7\u00e3o da sobreviv\u00eancia das \u00e1rvores, \u00e0 medida que os indiv\u00edduos cresceram em altura. Al\u00e9m disso, em fun\u00e7\u00e3o de varia\u00e7\u00f5es relacionadas \u00e0 disponibilidade h\u00eddrica no in\u00edcio da esta\u00e7\u00e3o de crescimento, a esp\u00e9cie produziu dois padr\u00f5es de anel de crescimento distintos: um com alto e outro com baixo custo estrutural, sendo a reserva de carbono acumulada durante a esta\u00e7\u00e3o de crescimento importante nessa produ\u00e7\u00e3o. Foi poss\u00edvel verificar altera\u00e7\u00f5es na arquitetura hidr\u00e1ulica que acarretaram na redu\u00e7\u00e3o da seguran\u00e7a da condutividade nos \u00faltimos an\u00e9is de crescimento e, tamb\u00e9m, redu\u00e7\u00e3o da efici\u00eancia da condutividade no anel formado durante o \u00faltimo ano de vida dos indiv\u00edduos (2012), influenciando negativamente sua sobreviv\u00eancia.
