A regi\u00e3o de Itapetininga \u00e9 uma das principais produtoras de resina do Brasil. A Esta\u00e7\u00e3o Experimental de Itapetininga, \u00e1rea protegida do IF, atua na pesquisa com esp\u00e9cies ex\u00f3ticas\u00a0e \u00e9 uma das maiores \u00e1reas de explora\u00e7\u00e3o do sudeste paulistas. Possui 800 hectares destinados \u00e0 explora\u00e7\u00e3o da atividade. A resinagem \u00e9 o nicho mais rent\u00e1vel do mercado de <em>pinus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>O estado de S\u00e3o Paulo \u00e9 o maior produtor de resina de <em>pinus<\/em> do pa\u00eds, sendo respons\u00e1vel por mais de 60% da produ\u00e7\u00e3o nacional, segundo a Associa\u00e7\u00e3o dos Resinadores do Brasil.
