O Museu Florestal, que hoje leva seu nome, teve seu edif\u00edcio idealizado para ser um museu de Hist\u00f3ria Natural. Uma das salas estava destinada aos estudos de entomologia florestal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A entomologia florestal pesquisa a rela\u00e7\u00e3o dos insetos com as florestas, buscando compreender desde as pragas que afetam planta\u00e7\u00f5es at\u00e9 a atua\u00e7\u00e3o dos polinizadores.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tede.mackenzie.br\/jspui\/handle\/tede\/1825\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOs vitrais do Museu Florestal foram idealizados pelo pr\u00f3prio Oct\u00e1vio Vecchi e executados pela conceituada Casa Conrado entre os anos de 1928 e 1930. Medem 1,20m de altura, encimados por arco pleno. Em 2005, recebeu um incremento com a incorpora\u00e7\u00e3o da cole\u00e7\u00e3o do Setor de Zoologia\/ESALQ, iniciada pelo o Prof. Salvador de Toledo Piza, na d\u00e9cada de 30.\u201d <\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No dia 07 de fevereiro de 2018, a atual respons\u00e1vel pelo Museu Florestal \u201cOct\u00e1vio Vecchi\u201d, Nat\u00e1lia Almeida, realizou visita t\u00e9cnica ao laborat\u00f3rio de entomologia da Escola Superior de Agricultura \u201cLuiz de Queiroz\u201d para conhecer a cole\u00e7\u00e3o de borboletas coletadas por Vecchi e identificadas por Piza. Foi recebida pelo professor aposentado Sinval Silveira Neto.
